Description:Studies have shown that red hair alleles in MC1R increase freckling and decrease tanning ability. A fragment by the poet Xenophanes describes the Thracians as blue-eyed and red-haired. The British comedian Catherine Tate herself a redhead appeared as a red-haired character in a running sketch of her series The Catherine Tate Show.
